For the myRyanair project, we had 3 different phases. The first was the redesign. The second was adding some cool new features. The third phase is to build a community inside the profile. So after redisigning myRyanair, on the roadmap we knew that our next task was to add new features. The first feature to be added was the notification centre.

After extensive research we wrote the requirements for what would be the ideal Notification Centre for Ryanair. It would need to be something that would meet business and users goals. Business goals was basically to have users access the list of notifications that would expire according to each type of notification. Business wanted users to interact with notifications in order to sell more. Users goals was to have notification for sales, flights and Travel Credit. The Notification Centre was decided to stay inside the user navigation so it would not disrupt users from other interactions on the website and to avoid cluttering the header bar.
